Himani, you did not tell me it was going to be a damn cool looking movie in December! At least, it has the coolest website I’ve ever seen for a movie. You can play around with an alethiometer and everything.

I also took the “get a daemon” quiz and wound up with a gibbon named Philon. At least it wasn’t a golden monkey. Look–you can choose if you think it is right for me (too cute):

I went to the website too, but I didn’t have time to do the daemon quiz. It is a cool looking website. I just hope they don’t try to siphon off the LOTR popularity (and one of the trailers I’ve seen begins with a reference to LOTR, which worried me), because the Golden Compass was not meant to be like LOTR.
Have you read the books? They rock. In fact, I’ve enjoyed ALL of Philip Pullman’s books, even his really old ones that almost nobody has heard of.

It’s NOTHING like LOTR. Which is nice, really. Kristi’s going to loan me the other two books so I can be caught up for the movie, plus find out what happens after they cross over! That was a dirty move, such a cliffhanger.
