Power of Positive Thinking
Today, I am practicing Toddler Zen.
1. The fact that he can’t hold his head still during a haircut=a unique style that no one else at school will sport this term.
2. The fact that he has uber poo=many opportunities to explain how the potty works. Many opportunities to offer the potty (they’ve all been denied, but we’re thinking positive!)
3. Dumping newly full bottle of soap in the sink until empty=an interest in doing dishes, and a cleaner sink for me once I rinse all the soap out.
4. Leaving the water on to flood the countertop=both helping me with my fear of electricity+water by desensitization and cleaner counters. Bonus–got to clean under the microwave, which I haven’t done in a while.
5. Screaming “what” instead of coming when called=good hearing and vocal chords
6. Refusing to take a nap=earlier bedtime (I can hear desertbell laughing, somewhere)
Sigh. Off to the trenches…
