Books Lately

I forgot to do a Books I read in July post. Oops.

But I have read a couple really good books lately and I thought I’d mention them:

Lauren Dane has a newish release called Threat of Darkness. I have to admit I love her menages the most, and this one is no exception. I really enjoyed the world of this book, creative and unique. Fun times! Plus, it can be found at Ellora’s Cave under the category “Menage a Trois and more”. Aw yeah.

One day I posted about a book that caught my eye solely based on the cover. That was Joey Hill’s A Vampire Queen’s Servant and let me tell you, the cover did NOT lie this time. HAWT, HAWT, well written, compelling and oh yeah HAWT. I’m very, very vexed that the new one is not out until February. Bah. This book, she is teh hot. I’m still kind of reeling from it. Not that it was book perfection or anything, but it tripped all my triggers including good characterization, creative plotting, rich descriptions and a lovely growth between the two main characters. And yeah, the hot sex was a nice addition as well. Mrow. Now how can I get me a splinter-free St. Andrew’s Cross with bonus restraints and a head strap for sleeping…? Hm, that may have been TMI.

Also, one I can’t really say I’ve READ, but that I know will be GOOD when it comes out is Megan Hart’s Tempted. You can pre-order it on Amazon now, and having read her first two Aphrodesia releases I can pretty much guarantee a good read with the third. Plus nekkid cover. Nice. Doesn’t come out till January though, so I’ll probably blab about it again.

Another one I’m looking forward to is Richelle Mead’s Succubus on Top. I liked the first one a lot, love Georgina as the well-behaved succubus who really prefers not to steal men’s souls. Heh. Not out till December–frigging authors and their need to write well and slowly and stuff. Heh.

And, I’m spent. Literally, books are expensive :) I did pick up MelJean Brooks’s Demon Moon. I love her blog, so I hope her book is fun too. And I’m waiting with bated breath for John Scalzi’s The Last Colony to be out in paperback so I can grab it, too. Oh and the other two Pullman books. So many books, so few dollars…

I have a new project happening in my head. I’m excited about it, will post about it soon.
