Target
Is like heaven, with a Starbux. Seriously, I filled my cart from bottom to top but I think I cut my errand running in half this month! Woot! Plus I got ten dollars off, which I promptly spent on frappachinos.
But proof I should never walk through the book aisle: I picked up a copy of The Thirteenth Tale. So far, the story is interesting but what is really captivating is her rich writing style–so much lush description without feeling heavy. I covet that ability. I find in my novel I’m doing a lot of “she turned and walked down the hall” or “she looked around” and other mundane, listing type directions. My new goal is to work on figuring out how to narrate a scene without sounding so clinical.
Amazing how there is always something to learn out there. Does Target sell writing advice?
I’m blogging at the Whispers blog today–come see what I’d rather be doing!
