Today’s Panini and other Blah Blah
Sliced steak leftover from dinner, roasted red peppers, monterey jack, garlic aioli mustard on green chile bread buttered with vegan butter for grilling (don’t ask). I’m stuffed and happy–the panini maker I ordered is teh bomb.
The Abstinence Teacher is not getting any better. I’m annoyed by the way the author portrays women and I’m annoyed that he constantly refers to weight and eating as character flaws, and I’m annoyed that nothing interesting has happened in the first 100 pages–I still don’t give a care about the characters. I don’t know why I insist on reading straight contemporary or literary fiction–it is a rare one of those that really catches my eye. Bah. I keep trying because I feel like I’m missing something, but I keep getting disappointed. Maybe I get enough of real life in real life–I want fantasy in my fiction (not the unicorn kind necessarily, just something *different*.)
More proof to me that the human condition isn’t as complex as we’d like to imagine, I guess. Give me space ships any day.
