Wherein I emerge victorious

And with all limbs intact!

My edits are finished and I received my finished copy of A Pirate’s Legacy this morning, yayayayayayay! I am so totally glad to be sending my girls into the world. This is two years of work under my belt (and others), and I’m very happy to say it is finally finished.

There is a long dedication, incidentally, and I owe everyone who read and critiqued this book a big fat kiss. That is probably a debt I won’t be paying back :)

And in addition to editing my rear end off, I found time to work in my first totally completed knitting project. Check it out, it’s cunning…

I’m so freaking proud of this hat. I mean… it’s a hat! I did ribbing, worked on circular needles and DPNs, held two strands together the entire time, picked up knitting from the edge, and made my own pompom. I mean, the pattern is easy-peasy as far as knitting goes, but I had to learn a bunch of skills to get it done and I’m super proud of it. Plus, I finished it in time for the BDM this weekend. Bonus. It isn’t perfect–the orange section is too big, for example, and there are many littler things wrong, but hey, all part of the charm :)

Incidentally, crochet hooks are very useful in knitting. I don’t for the life of me understand why knitters insist on being so elitist.

Shiny.

You are SUCH A GEEK!!!!!! *giggles*

The hat is AWESOME! I should totally make one like that for Connor. He has some Jayne-esque qualities, after all. (Hopefully none of the really bad ones, though). ;)

Yay on finishing the edits and the hat! :) You sitting there saying how there’s too much orange. I’ll leave you to think of what kind of hat *I* could knit! ;) Because I can’t.
