I have a cold?
How about a little on books?
I just finished She’s Not There: A Life in Two Genders by Jennifer Finney Boylan. A truly intense read about a MtF transgendered person’s journey. Very heavy duty reading but I’m glad to have a better perspective. Current estimates, per her book, are that transgendered folks outnumber those with cleft palates and multiple sclerosis. Too bad the disorder is so badly misunderstood, even now.
I’m working my way through Sasha White’s Bound, and while I generally enjoy bdsm subject matter I can’t really connect with the main characters POV. She is at once needy and independent and neither one particularly convincingly. However, sex scenes are smoking hot and the hero is very sexy. It isn’t a wallbanger, but it isn’t a five star masterpiece either.
I’d really like to read the books on string theory we have in the house, but I fear I’m not smart enough. Sigh.
Randomly, I’m also participating in the Ravelympics, a knitting sprint to see if I can start and finish a project during the olympics. I haven’t even cast on yet, although I could have as of 5 am this morning, because I still have to finish up a traveling scarf in my possession. I’m starting to panic a bit, hee.
