Replace “knitting” with “my day job” or “writing” and you get basically the three most frequent things said to me. Hee.

I wish I could draw a popular comic strip for the Internet. XD

Seriously, though, waving together a couple of magic wands and turning a bunch of fuzzy one-dimensional string into a useful multi-dimensional artefact… is something I am happy to continue being impressed by, rather than tempted to try my own hand at. :D Kudos for enjoyable and practical hobbies!

LOL! Yeah, I hear that a lot, too. Or, the one I love best . . . when I’m knitting between classes, or waiting in a waiting room before an appointment, and someone says to me, “Oh, I’d love to be able to do that, but I don’t have time.” Um, except that I’m doing it in the waiting room - the SAME waiting room at the SAME time as the person who made the comment - so clearly this person could have also made the choice to be knitting in the waiting room.

Mostly, I think people just make those excuses to make themselves feel better. Which is silly. There’s no shame in not knowing how to knit. But people who are interested really ought to just learn, ya know?

Also - PURPLE SCARVES! Our next traveling scarf group is definitely going to be purple. I think there are at least four of us on board for it now; maybe more (I haven’t checked the message board in a while). YAY PURPLE!!!!! :D
